about

Taking its title from both the Buzzcocks song of the same name and the fact that the LP comprises 16 songs by Washington DC post-punk power pop band Dot Dash being released again, '16 Again' is out now as a 12” vinyl LP released by Newport, Wales indie label Country Mile Records.

Over the last decade and change Dot Dash has issued seven albums, all released by Canadian indie label The Beautiful Music. 16 Again (Country Mile Records catalog number CMR031) marks the band’s first release on vinyl.

Comprising 15 handpicked gems from the Dot Dash back catalogue and adding a Television Personalities cover (‘Jackanory Stories’), 16 Again is stacked with energetically intense, jangly, melodic bangers -- many clocking in at around two minutes flat.

Think of it as a ‘greatest hits’ album by a band with no hits.

Along the way, Dot Dash has played shows with The Undertones, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The B-52s, Richard Lloyd (ex-Television), The Monochrome Set, The Minus 5 (ex-Young Fresh Fellows, R.E.M.), The Psychedelic Furs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Chameleons, Bailterspace, The Dickies, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Ash, Hugh Cornwell (ex-Stranglers), Stiff Little Fingers, Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), The Fleshtones, The Vibrators, Glen Matlock (ex-Sex Pistols), Urge Overkill, Ian Hunter (ex-Mott The Hoople), The Drums, 999, The Bats, The Trashcan Sinatras, Sylvain Sylvain (ex-New York Dolls), The Clientele, Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey (ex-dB's), Josie Cotton, The Plimsouls, Protex, The Shirt Event (Smithereens, ex-Sparks), Drivin'n'Cryin, The Godfathers, The Nude Party, Country Westerns, The Empty Hearts (mems of Blondie/The Cars/The Romantics/ Chesterfield Kings), The Schizophonics, D.O.A., Field Day (ex-Dag Nasty), The Amazons, Wussy, The Essex Green, Matt Pond PA, Moon Duo, Soulside, Jack Grisham (TSOL), Apollo 66, Wax Idols, Office of Future Plans, Mike Viola, Allo Darlin', Adam Franklin (Swervedriver), Frankie Rose, Ultimate Painting, The Explorers Club, Miss Lonelyheart, Elf Power, X___X (ex-Rocket From The Tombs, Electric Eels), Ladybug Transistor, Tommy Keene, The Supersuckers, Celebration Summer, Jacuzzi Boys, Dim Wizard, The Flash Hits, False Tracks, Bim Skala Bim, Blunt Bangs, The Wave Pictures, Stevie Jackson (Belle & Sebastian), Eternal Summers & lots of other rocking combos.
